Tavern On Central in Ashburnham

Just a friendly neighborhood pub. Has live music at times, and the food is tasty with large portions. People are great, and it's nice to see so many people from around town getting together there.

The food is wonderful, but the service is not so great. It is always very slow on service. I actually went there the other day and there was no hostess at the entrance. There was a family in front of me that had a reservation who had not been seated 20 minutes past their reservation time. We waited a good 10 to 15 minutes and finally left. Granted it was Valentine's Day weekend, so I understand being busy, but there should always be someone to greet you, so that customers can stay informed of wait times, etc. I will still go back because it is a pleasant atmosphere and food and drinks are excellent. I just wish they could work on the service a bit.

Had their Fire House Burger. I was done just right and had great flavor.The tavern has a sports bar feel with a bar, booths and tall tables to sit at.The waitress was very pleasant and helpful when it came to picking something out to eat. She was very knowledgeable about the different items on the menuDefinitely a place you need to try if you're in the Ashburnham Mass area.

Got the pastrami sandwich and the bottom grilled rye bread was completely mushy through to the grilled outer part. Not impressed with the Waitress. She did not come by for quite some time, I got up and got catsup off an empty table and she never refilled our soda.. most times the I have had a positive experience but this time was a miss.

Good food and drinks. Relaxed atmosphere. Freindly staff. Loved the wings.

Friendly server and there was a Friday lunch crowd at 12:30... my lunch was a good portion and better than I'd expected and my 1st Gin and tonic was tastey...my friend found the basil in her drink was not serving worthy but her fish tacos were superburb....good experience in all and I'm sure we'll be back for sure...

Yesterday I had a delicious pistachio encrusted Salmon over a well balanced cheese and vegetable risotto. The roasted red peppers, peas and onions really made this dish shine along with the pistachio. Service was well timed and I enjoy meeting the person who prepared the food. The portion was great, too, I got two meals out of it. I'll definitely be back soon 😊

I've been 3 times in 2 weeks now, guess I should write a review.... Its BOMB, the food is some of the best, big portions, worth the money. Great service. And a rather large selection of brews. A trip to Ashburnham should be in your future if you haven't been. I hope to come back several more times.

Great food, especially the salmon. Everyone are polite, friendly and professional. Very happy to see an establishment that uses paper straws and recognizes the need to help wildlife!

The tavern has the best chef and servers. Stuffed mushrooms are gourmet. Mussels and clam dishes are fantastic. Broth is top shelf. Love this restaurant.

The staff is super friendly and the food is amazing, I have yet to have a bad experience.

Second time here. Just as good as the first. I hear that it can be loud, but having gone early both times I haven't had that problem. Both visits our entire party has enjoyed their meals. Service fast and friendly. Prices very reasonable. May be our new "go to" spot. #localspot

We love The Tavern on Central. Last time I got the blackened chicken ranch salad it is huge and so delicous. The service, food and drinks are always on point. Plus they have have live music.

Food was very good, service fair and prices were good

Service was great food was good. We froze at our table because of a makeshift AC duct that was blowing right on us. The menu was varied and my Rubin was cook very well but a little short on corn beef. Overall a good lunch and I would recommend it.

Great food, my baked haddock was delicious and the sweet potato fries actually tasted like sweet potatoes. We'll be going back.

Absolutely delicious!!!

The food is well prepared and very delicious. My husband's prime rib was subtly flavored, and so tender it practically melted in your mouth. My Riesling Veal was a delightful surprise, perfectly cooked with a masterful blending of savory and sweet flavors. The mushroom ravioli that came with it were also expertly prepared, and a could be a main dish on their own. We finished with the mixed berry bread pudding - yummy, worth a trip out just for that!

Great food and beer menu! I would have given 5 stars except they no longer serve the half sized nachos which was very disappointing. (The reason we went!) The full size is enough to feed the whole table...but super excessive for someone wanting it as an appetizer before their meal. I'm not sure if it was a cost decision but having experience in the restaurant industry someone ordering a $14 appetizer for their entire meal as opposed to someone paying $10 for a smaller portion and then adding on a full entree doesn't seem like good math. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂 Despite that we will return because the food is so good. Hopefully they will bring the smaller order back. A LOT of customers are missing it!

Great view and music in summer and fall

Average food. It would be what you would expect from pub food. The chicken and broccoli alfredo was good and was enough for two people!

This is a nice pub style restaurant with very good food. They have some entertainment at night and a pool table for those who like to play. I highly recommend the maple almond crusted chicken.

Tasty food but the music is too loud to be enjoyed. Metal ceiling seems to do a number on the acoustics of the room. Good food. Bring earplugs and a notepad to write on since there is no cell service to text your dinner partner.

Good food. Huge portions. Nice atmosphere. Great bar. Good service. It has a pool table and dart board. Considering the lack of competition in town it's better than you might expect! Well be back!

I had an excellent meal here with my partner. She and I received great and attentive service and a well prepared meal while we watched a local musician perform. Restaurants that offer a larger mug of Guiness usually have me coming back. The Tavern on Central is no different.

Great restaurant, amazing food and service. The dishes are huge so bring your appetite.

Being a local at the tavern is fun. Electric Green Company performed and I played pool while I listened. So much better than just sitting and listening.

Great pub/restaurant, but be sure to get there before the parking lot is filled up! This is the happening place in Ashburnham. Great wait staff and accommodating. Good food and drinks but the chilli could be spiced up a little more, " for me anyways". 🙂

The mac attack burger was amazing! Also great wings and good live music.

Food delicious large portions, service awesome!

Place was okay but went downhill big time. Last time I ate there the flat bread pizza was disgusting and they had taken the poutine off the menu which was the only reason to go.

Great food, staff, and environment. Trivia every Thursday and live bands Friday nights.
